ANTWERP TOWNSHIP (WKZO) — Van Buren County Deputies believe someone with insider knowledge, pulled off a sophisticated robbery at a gas station in Antwerp Township early Saturday morning.
Whoever it was did their homework.
They broke through a cinderblock wall in the back of the building, managed to avoid setting off any of the alarms, cracked the safe, took the money and disappeared, all within an hour and a half window when the Marathon station on Red Arrow Highway in Van Buren County was unattended.
They certainly knew what they were doing, knowing where to punch through the wall, how to open the safe and when the station would be vulnerable.
Anyone with information about the break-in and robbery are asked to contact the Van Buren Sheriffs Department.
