SOUTHWEST MICHIGAN (WKZO) — Police agencies are warning shoppers and restaurant customers to stay vigilant and put your purses where you can see them.
They believe a man and a woman have been working the I-94 corridor, preying on diners who hang their purses on the back of chairs, and they may have been doing it for sometime.
They say they have reports of an older African American Couple snatching wallets and heading straight for big box stores to buy expensive items, and then disposing of the credit cards and wallets.
They say it’s happened in Portage, Battle Creek, Oshtemo, Benton Harbor, and in towns in Indiana and Illinois too.
