PORTAGE (WKZO) — The Mayor of Portage wants everyone to know that South Westnedge Avenue is open for business.
They picked up the cones on Tuesday. The busy roadway has been completely rebuilt for most of the length of the shopping corridor and has reopened to traffic.
Mayor Pete Strazdas acknowledges it’s been a sacrifice for the businesses along the strip.
The project has taken most of the summer at a cost of 2.5-million and while it may have not been one of the biggest projects this summer, it has been one of the most disruptive.
