Detroit, MI. — (WKZO) The finale of the three game series between Boston and Detroit didn’t go in favor of manager Brad Ausmus and theTigers as they dropped another one to the Bo-Soxs. Top 2nd bases loaded Boston’s Jackie Bradley Jr. gets a RBI walk and De Aza scores the first run of the game, followed by a RBI single by Brock Holt bringing in Blake Swihart and Boston has a 2-0 lead. Detroit gets one back in the 3rd after Rajai Davis singles and then stole 2nd only to advance to 3rd on a wild pitch, Victor Martinez drove him in with a RBI single to center that makes 2-1 Boston. There was a scary moment in the 5th when Verlander seemed to have rolled his ankle but was ok to resume, Bo-Soxs maintained their 2-1 lead going into the 7th and that all changed with one swing of the bat by Jackie Bradley Jr. as he crushed a monster shot deep into right center giving Boston a 3-1 lead. Boston added 4 more in the 8th; with the bases loaded Bradley Jr. steps to the plate and cleared the bases with a 3 RBI triple followed by Brock Holt’s RBI single and the Bo-Soxs win 7-2. Boston’s Henry Owens (1-1) gets his first win of th season going 5 innings allowing 1 earned run, 3hits, 4 walks, and 2 K’s while Detroit’s Justin Verlander (1-5) gets the loss, lasting 6 innings, allowing no runs, 4 hits, 3 walks, and striking out 7. Detroit will try to get back into the win column as travel to Kansas City to face the Central Division Leading Royals
