LANSING, MI (WTVB) – A half-million dollar pool of money has now been made available to fight the problem of sexual assault on campus. Michigan colleges and universities now have until October 1, 2015 to submit an application to make use of the funding. It’s part of the effort by Michigan First Lady Sue Snyder to address the issue, which hasn’t always been taken very seriously by the state’s institutions of higher learning.
They will be looking for innovative initiatives to improve campus security, treat victims and identify and punish offenders.
