Baltimore, MD. (WKZO) — The Newest Tiger pitcher made his debut, Detroit aquired Norris in the trade that sent starter David Price to Toronto. Detroit may just have what they’re look for; a pitcher that can go deep in the game to compliment Detroit’s expolsive offense. Top 1 with two on J.D. Martinez blast a 3 run home run to deep center and Detroit goes ahead 3-0. Baltimore gets one back in the 4th when Chris Davis connected with a solo shot to deep center make it 3-1 Tigers. Detroit exploded for 3 runs in the the 5th when Anthony Gose RBI single scores Rajai Davis, after Gose steals 2nd and 3rd Jose Iglesias brought him in on a RBI triple over the head of CF Adam Jones and Ian Kinsler followed suit with a RBI single bringing in Iglesias. Tigers Anthony Gose was sensational at lead off going 2-for-4 with a RBI, two stolen bases and scoring a run. Detriot’s top 3 had a phenominal day at the plate hitting a combine 6-of-11 with 3 RBI’s and scoring 4-of the-6 Tigers runs and the Tigers split the series at Camden Yards with a 6-1 victory over the O’s. Detroit’s starter Norris (1-0) in his debut get the win lasting 7 1/3 innings allowing 1 run, 4 hits, striking out 5 and a walk (including retiring 12 in a row) while Baltimore’s Ubaldo Jimenez goes 4 2/3 innings giving up 6 runs allowing 6 hits with 2 K’s and a walk. Detroit will have Monday off and will resume play as the Central Division leading Kansas City Royals come to Tiger Stadium for a 4 game set on Tuesday night @ 6:40 PM EST. on AM 590 WKZO.
