DETROIT (WKZ0) –A Detroit teenager is suing the school district and two police officers after he was locked up for more than a month over a thrown snowball, one they can’t even prove he threw.
Dominique Rondeau was sent to juvenile detention after the officers said he threw the snowball at a police car shattering the windshield.
Both officers said they identified the 16-year-old on security camera footage, but it was a feat they could not duplicate in court.
The charge of destroying police property was dropped.
Rondeau, who is now 18, has filed a federal lawsuit alleging false arrest and malicious prosecution.
