KALAMAZOO (WKZO)– The U.S. Dept. of Transportation is sending a 3.3-million dollar grant to Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International to rehabilitate its runways, extend taxiways and lighting and repave the apron where aircraft are parked.
The money comes from a tax that is paid on every airline ticket and set aside for airport improvements across the country.
Senator Debbie Stabenow says a local airport is important to local business as well as summer travelers on their way to vacation. The repaving will improve the efficiency of the airport.
