KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — A Kalamazoo Circuit Court Jury has found Christopher Oros guilty of everything he was charged with and threw in a first degree murder count as well for the death of 47-year-old Marie McMillan last November.
He will be sentenced next month to a pair of mandatory life sentences for killing someone during the commission of a felony, and for first degree premeditated murder.
There will be no chance of parole.
They also found him guilty of first degree arson, second degree home invasion and attempted escape.
He conned his way into McMillan’s unit at Claybourne Court apartments in an attempt to scam her for cash, something went wrong and in the confrontation that followed, she hit him and he stabbed her 29-times.
He left and later returned to set her place on fire to cover up his crime. It didn’t work.
Sentencing is set for August 24th.
