OSHTEMO (WKZO) — A violent collision right on the western edge of Kalamazoo County in Oshtemo Township has killed a woman from Mattawan.
Sheriffs Deputies say about 5:30 yesterday afternoon a car traveling north on VanKal failed to stop at a stop sign at Almena Drive and was hit broadside in the passenger side by another car.
The passenger, 37-year-old Cathy Simms did not survive the resulting injuries.
The two drivers apparently escaped the crash without serious injury.
It remains under investigation.
