LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Two members of the Lakeshore’s state House delegation have sponsored or are planning to sponsor legislation modifying Michigan’s abortion laws. Amanda Price of Park Township’s bill that would institute criminal penalties for coercing a woman to have an abortion will have a hearing before the Criminal Justice Committee in September. Cindy Gamrat of Plainwell told MIRS News she’s drawing up legislation that would ban abortions after 20 weeks, saying that when a fetus begins to feel pain. Both bills come after the release of covert video reportedly showing Planned Parenthood staffers discussing the sale of body parts from aborted fetus.
