DETROIT (WHTC) – The next step in the process of building a new connection to Canada was taken as the Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority asked for Request for Qualifications submissions by interested builders. This will be followed up by a Request for Proposals late this year, with the overall procurement process for deciding who will construct the Gordie Howe International Bridge expected to last through the end of 2016. Officials are hopeful of having the span ready for traffic by late 2020.
