LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Michigan Department of Transportation is leaving. On September 16th, Greg Johnson will become the State Highway Administrator for the Maryland Department of Transportation. The U-M and WMU graduate has advocated for Disadvantaged Business Enterprises nationwide, among other achievements during his 25 years in the department that began in the Kalamazoo area. A search for Johnson’s replacement as MDOT’s number two man is underway.
