KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Kalamazoo could soon have one less college.
Davenport University will be closing campuses in Kalamazoo, Battle Creek and Flint because of declining enrollment and the growth of on-line classes.
University officials say they will be attempting to partner with Community Colleges in Kalamazoo and Flint but did not detail what that would mean for current students.
The timing of the closures is also hazy, Davenport President Richard Pappas saying they were going to work one-on-one with students to help them make the transitions.
Other Davenport campuses may be expanding, where enrollment is growing. It’s all part of Davenport’s Vision 2020 reorganization plan.
