LANSING, MI (WHTC) – State Representative Martin Howrylak of suburban Detroit introduced a state Constitutional resolution for creating a non-partisan unicameral legislature If passed by voters, Michigan would join Nebraska in adopting a single-chamber legislature. Under the proposed system, lawmakers would be limited to serving four terms or 16 years. The resolution, with three Republican and three Democratic sponsors, has been sent to the House Committee on Government Operations for consideration.
