HOLLAND (WHTC) – Holland residents can easily get to Chicago by train through Amtrak. Now there’s an effort to connect the Tulip City with the Motor City by rail. Michigan by Rail is a group that is looking into the feasibility of a coast-to-coast train service connecting Holland with Detroit. The group will hold the first in a series of public meetings on the proposal Monday night at the Holland High School cafeteria. The proposed line would connect Holland, Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Detroit. The study seeks to determine whether people would use the rail line and how much it would cost. The meeting runs from 6-7:30 p.m.
