DEARBORN (WKZO) — Thanks to a spike just before the Fourth of July, gas prices in Michigan are up by six-cents a gallon over last week.
Triple-A Michigan puts the average at two-dollars 94-cents, which is slightly lower than prices were heading into the holiday when retailers jumped up to two-dollars 99-cents. T
The most expensive gas is in Ann Arbor at two-dollars 99-cents a gallon, While the lowest prices are in the Upper Peninsula.
Marquette’s average is two-dollars 74-cents.
Michigan’s average price is 85-cents lower than this time last year. Gas prices in the Kalamazoo area are around $2.90.
Prices are still alot lower than they were a year ago at this time.
