LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning unveiled its Independence Day holiday weekend enhanced enforcement initiative, with the focus this time being on drunken driving. “Summer’s Newest Superhero, the Designated Driver” spotlights those who take those too impaired to drive home. The usual extra patrols of state, county and local law enforcement will be on major highways and surface streets through next Monday, funded by Washington through the OHSP.
