LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The cities of Allegan and Kalamazoo are among five communities statewide sharing 50 thousand dollars in PlacePlans Implementation Grants that must be spent in 12 months. This program, held in conjunction with various state agencies and the Michigan Municipal League, helps in the designing and planning of transformative place-making projects. Allegan’s project is for its downtown area along the Kalamazoo River. Kalamazoo’s plan aims at the Portage Street Corridor’s farmers’ market.
