CLEVELAND (WKZO) – Carlos Carrasco fired eight solid innings as the Indians tamed the Tigers 8-2 at Progressive Field.
Carrasco struck out seven while allowing five hits and two runs to improve to 9-and-6.
Francisco Lindor hit his first career home run, and Carlos Santana and Yan Gomes drove in two runs each, as the Tribe salvaged the finale of the three-game series.
Detroit’s Justin Verlander was scratched with back tightness.
Buck Farmer got the start instead and was touched for five runs in five and a third frames to fall to 0-and-2.
J.D. Martinez hit a two-run homer for the Tigers in defeat.
Tigers travel to Chicago’s South Side for an afternoon game with the White Sox, weather permitting.
