LANSING, MI (WHTC) – MIRS News reports that more than half of the political action committees or candidate committees involving the current 148-member state Legislature have been fined by the Bureau of Elections for various campaign finance violations, most notably through filing required reports late or not at all. The Lansing-based news agency totaled over 101 thousand dollars in fines, ranging individually from 10 dollars to more than 71 hundred dollars. Four state lawmakers currently have outstanding fines.
