KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Beginning today, the watch begins for the Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage. It could come anytime in the next two weeks.
Kalamazoo County Clerk Tim Snow says he has converted a conference room at the County Building into a marriage license processing center because he expects to see crowds if the Justices cancel Michigan’s ban on gay marriages.
Everywhere they have legalized it, there has been a rush on clerk’s offices.
He says he quite frankly isn’t sure what to expect a few weeks after the ruling, but he suspects things will get back to relative normal.
He says the revised license application removes any reference to gender.
Businesses that cater to couples getting married may also see a significant climb in business.
It all depends now on what the Supreme Court decides and when it is issued.
