LANSING, MI (WHTC) – A state government spending plan for Fiscal 2016 is now law.
Spending increases on education and road construction are part of a 54 billion dollar budget Governor Rick Snyder signed on Wednesday. Critics say the plan does not include a long-term plan to fix the states roadways, but Mr. Snyder said to reporters afterward that there is some progress, claiming that funding that would have been in place had Proposal 1 passed last month is in this spending plan. The spending plan takes effect in October and is about three percent more than the current spending budget.
