LANSING, MI (WHTC) – A bill that limits local rules on businesses in Michigan is now headed to the Governor’s desk. The legislation would ban local “prevailing wage” laws and other such requirements that exceed state or federal standards, with the Senate concurring on a late House provision that the new law would only impact measures adopted after last December 31st. Supporters say that it would streamline rules statewide, while opponents claim it’s just a power grab by Lansing.
