VICKSBURG (WKZO) — For the second time this week, signs have been posted at Sunset Lake Park in Vicksburg, closing the beach and taken down again, after subsequent tests show its safe.
The signs warned swimmers that health officials have found bacteria levels in the water that make it unhealthy to swim there.
The source usually isn’t from a plant or city sewage system. Its the big rain events. All that rain flushes bird and animal droppings into the water, causing the high E-coli levels.
