DETROIT (WKZO)– Anibal Sanchez tossed a complete-game shutout, leading the Tigers to a 6-0 victory over the Reds in the first of two at Comerica Park.
Sanchez held Cincinnati to two hits and struck out seven on his way to 5-and-7. J.D. Martinez was 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, while Miguel Cabrera had two hits and two RBI.
The Tigers have won three of four. Joey Votto and Todd Frazier each had a hit for the Reds.
Starter Jon Moscot left the game during the first inning with a dislocated left shoulder.
Pedro Villarreal took the loss.
Cincinnati has dropped three in-a-row and four of five.
