SAUGATUCK (WHTC) – A developer has gotten the go-ahead from Saugatuck officials to build 13 single-family homes on the site of the former Presbyterian Camps. The City Council has approved the Planned Unit Development request from DuneGrass, the developer of the former campsite that was sold by the Chicago Presbytery more than a year ago for $10-million.
The council’s action Wednesday came separately from a consent judgment that had been worked out late last week that would settle two lawsuits from neighbors of the development against the city. Final approval had been delayed earlier this week because the city attorney presented the council with a resolution that linked the development’s approval to the consent judgment. Developer David Barker objected to connecting the two.
