KALAMAZOO COUNTY (WKZO) — The Kalamazoo County Health Department issued public health advisories for a pair of South County beaches because of high E.coli levels this morning.
Tests conducted on Monday suggested full body contact with the water in Sunset Lake in Vicksburg and Hogsett Lake at Prarie View Park would be ill-advised.
By Wednesday afternoon, new tests showed that the bacteria had disappated, killed off by the sun and heat.
It means that anyone who may have used the beaches on Monday or Tuesday may have been exposed. We hope to still talk to health officials and find out if they are at all concerned about that.
