KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP (WKZO) — A car speeding out of Kalamazoo into the Township picked up a trail from a Kalamazoo Township Officer, and in an attempt to flee, wound up slamming into the front of a home at Barney and Nichols Road early Sunday morning.
Barney Road ends at Nichols and it’s just the latest in a series of wayward cars that have struck that particular home, despite the fact that the family has strategically placed huge boulders in their front yard.
Township Police say the Nissan Maxima apparently hit one of the boulders and was launched airborne into the home.
This time it happened at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, when the driver, fleeing from police failed to make the turn.
Investigating officers say that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
No one in the home was hurt, but they did have a rude awakening. They were all taken to a motel, until repairs can be made to the home, again.
The driver was treated for minor injuries before he was booked into the Kalamazoo County Jail on multiple charges.
