Chicago, IL (WKZO) — After Detroit scored to take 1-0 lead top of the first on a pop single to left by Tyler Collins scoring Miguel Cabrera, Chicago retakes the lead in the bottom of the inning on a 3 run bomb to left by Avisail Garcia put the Sox’s up 3-1. Chicago increased the lead to 4-1 when Carlos Sanchez scored on Adam Eaton’s RBI triple. Tigers come roaring back J.D Martinez singles up the middle Tyler Collins scores making it 4-2 Chicago. The comeback came in the 6th for Detroit when they got 3 runs on a solo shot by Yoenis Cespedes(8) and a 2 run bomb to deep center field by J.D Martinez giving the Tigers a 5-4 lead. Detroit added one more in the 8th and beat Chicago 6-4. Detroit’s Alfredo Simon gets the win lasting 8 strong innings with 7 K’s retiring 12 White Sox batters in a row, Chicago’s Jeff Samadzija gets the loss going 7.1 innings with 6 earned runs and 5 K’s, Detroit’s Joakim Soria earns the save. Detroit is off on Monday and will resume play as they take on the White Sox crosstown rivials the Cubs in a two game series on Tuesday @ 6:40 PM on AM 590 WKZO. Article by Shawn Harris
