PORTAGE (WKZO) — Fast food proved to be bad for a trio out late at night, using suspected fraudulent credit cards early Sunday morning in Portage.
The three stopped at the McDonalds on south Westnedge in Portage just after 1 a.m.
The bad plastic prompted a McDonalds employee to call Public Safety and give a description of the vehicle, a Dodge SUV to police as it fled the restaurant and headed north on Westnedge.
An officer spotted them just north of the Interstate and tried to pull them over. The suspect driver pulled in and out of a business and headed south, and stopped at the Holiday Hotel next to I-94.
Two of the suspects tried to flee on foot, but were quickly subdued and cuffed.
The driver and one of the passengers was arrested for fleeing, resisting and unlawful possession of an illegal financial device.
One of them also had an outstanding warrant.
The third occupant of the car was not charged.
