HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The Mid-Michigan Honor Flight takes place today at the Gerald R. Ford International airport. It’s the Regional Hub of the Honor Flight Network.
Honor Flight Network is the national organization who is behind this massive effort to see that all Veterans have the opportunity to see their memorials, free of charge. There are approximately 136 Hubs in 48 states committed to this mission.
Tonight 60 Veterans will fly from Ford airport to Reagan International in Washington, D.C. Concentration for this tour “Tour of Honor” is on WWII Veterans and any terminally ill Veteran.
They hope to be able to do two flights this year and are staffed 100% with volunteers.
