PORTAGE (WKZO) — Two female members of the Pelletier family are expected to be arraigned in court Monday or Tuesday for trespass and resisting arrest charges after they had to be tear-gassed out of their Portage home Saturday night.
Their brother died in a shoot out with police, three weeks ago, defending what he believed to be his right to stay there, even though it was their own mother who signed the eviction notices.
The METRO SWAT squad moved in after neighbors complained of gunfire coming from the home.
It’s more like a compound than a residential home with old vans and semi-trailers parked on the lot, the landscaping unattended and windows broken out by tear gas shells
The siblings were reportedly depending on solar power.
The home is along a little two track dirt road, surrounded by brand new upscale homes and condominium projects.
Officers armed with a warrant had the bomb squad check out devices connected to the door to make sure the place wasn’t booby trapped.
They seized about 30 guns: including pistols, shot- guns, long guns and assault rifles scattered through the home.
They were also reportedly equipped to make their own ammunition.
The guns will be checked to see if any were illegal.
