SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP (WKZO) — A deadly crash in eastern Calhoun County has claimed three lives, including the life of a 16-year old boy from Albion.
Deputies say another 16-year-old is being blamed for the crash. The teen was eastbound on I-94 at 28-Mile Road in Calhoun County when the SUV veered across the median and slammed head-on into a westbound vehicle Sunday evening, killing one of his passengers.
Deputies say a 74-year-old from Jackson and a 77-year-old from Ohio also died as a result of injuries caused by the violent collision.
The 16-year-old at-fault driver and two 15-year-old girls in the first vehicle and a 57-year-old man from Jackson in the second vehicle were all taken to the hospital for treatment of various injuries.
Names and conditions have not been released. It remains under investigation
It happened just before 7:30 p.m. on the busy freeway in Sheridan Township, closing the west bound lanes for hours.
