LANSING, MI (WHTC) – More police are going to be on the roads starting tonight looking for drunk drivers and those who aren’t buckled up.
Michigan State Polic are kicking off Operation C.A.R.E., which stands for Combined Accident Reduction Effort, in the effort to reduce the number of fatal traffic accidents.
Triple-A Michigan is predicting a nearly five-percent increase in the number of Michiganders planning to travel at least 50 miles from home over this long holiday weekend.
Last year, 20 people died in 19 crashes over Memorial Day weekend in Michigan.
