KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — A Milwood resident is recovering from burns to his hands and face after he tried to rescue items from his burning home at 1710 Southern Street in Kalamazoo Thursday Afternoon.
Its not clear if he suffered the burns during his repeated visits inside, or as neighbors claimed, trying to light a wood stove in his basement with gasoline.
Neighbors and passersby eventually restrained him to keep him out of the burning home.
The cause is under investigation.
The extent of the man’s injuries has not been released. He is being treated at Bronson’s Burn Unit.
