LANSING (WKZO) — The Michigan Senate has approved legislation that would ban the purchase of and possession of e-cigarettes and cartridges by minors and another bill that prohibits the sale of Palcohol to everyone.
Governor Snyder has not issued an opinion on the legislation, but he vetoed a bill earlier this year that would have restricted the sale of E-Cigarettes, because he would rather tax them as tobacco products.
Senator Rick Jones says e-cigarettes are not just tobacco. They are a nicotine delivery system and should be regulated differently.
Palcohol, or powdered alcohol is a brand new product that can be used to turn any drink into an alcoholic beverage.
The bills were approved unanimously in the upper chamber and now head to the State House.
