GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – Police are warning people about a jury duty phone scam in Grand Rapids.
They say a caller tells someone they have failed to report for jury duty and has to pay money or they will be arrested. The victim is told to buy a pre-paid credit card and call a phone number with a recording saying the organization is the “Grand Rapids Police Department Warrant Division.”
The people are told to leave a message with the credit card number, but police and Kent County courts say they don’t do busniess that way.
They are reports this is happening all over the country.
