THORNAPPLE TOWNSHIP (WKZO) — Charges may be pursued this week against a driver who ran a stop sign in rural Barry County this weekend, killing a toddler and leaving his infant brother on life support.
Barry County authorities say a driver in a pick-up failed to yield to two other vehicles, a small red sedan and an SUV, striking them both at the intersection of Green Lake Road and Cherry Valley road early Saturday afternoon.
5-year-old Caleb Duley was pronounced dead at the scene.
His mother, Amanda Duley and infant brother, Gabe were both airlifted by Aeromed to hospitals in Grand Rapids.
Mrs. Duley is recovering after surgery.
Gabe remains in critical condition at last word.
There were 6 others in the two other vehicles but none of them were injured.
