PORTAGE (WKZO) — State Police investigators have released the names of the two brothers involved in that fatal shooting in Portage, and verified what we originally reported it was all about.
Lt. Dale Hinz says it was Sean Pelletier’s own mother that initiated the eviction on a piece of property that she wanted to refurbish and sell, but she couldn’t get her son and two daughters to move out.
When court workers tried to serve eviction papers, they learned that Pelletier was heavily armed and they felt threatened.
That’s why County Deputies waited for him to leave the home in Portage, with his 29-year old brother Aaron behind the wheel to serve a warrant for trespassing.
What followed was Thursdays cross-county chase and shoot out at a West Portage apartment complex
The press release says 37-year old Sean was officially pronounced dead at Bronson Hospital, after he was hit by police gunfire when he pulled an assault rifle from the car at the end of a long police chase. Aaron Pelletier was wounded and remains in critical condition.
