LANSING, MI (WHTC) – A 75 million-dollar settlement has been reached to end a lawsuit filed by the state against Enbridge over the 800 thousand-plus-gallon oil spill into Talmadge Creek and the Kalamazoo River near Marshall nearly five years ago. The deal will finalize cleanup and restoration requirements for more than 38 miles of river and over 44 hundred acres of adjacent shoreline. Enbridge will also be responsible for continued monitoring and treatment for lingering aftereffects in the affected area.
