LANSING, MI (WHTC) – State Senator Mike Shirkey has introduced a bill that would rescind a new law mandating a statewide study on costs to educate students in Michigan. That legislation was part of the Proposal 1 compromise agreement during Lame Duck last December, but with the ballot issue losing last week, the Clarklake Republican told MIRS News that the study “could end up creating more problems than solving problems.” Governor Snyder is still supportive of conducting the study.
