LANSING, MI (WHTC) – The Michigan Senate has approved 30 summer business sessions in the wake of last Tuesday’s defeat of Proposal 1. Majority Floor Leader Mike Kowall of White Lake will have the upper chamber at work for usual weekly Tuesday to Thursday dates from mid-June through just before Labor Day weekend, with a two-week break during the last week in July and the first week in August. The state House is expected to follow suit.
Polls taken after the rejection of the road funding reform ballot question showed strong support for summer legislative sessions to deal with roads.
