UNDATED (WKZO) — The Security Status at military bases worldwide has been cranked up, including at Michigan’s largest military installation.
Security is tighter today at Selfridge Air National Guard Base and other military bases around the U.S. due to the threat of a possible terror incident.
Chief of Public Affairs at the Harrison Township base Penny Carroll said in a statement security levels have been increased and employees and visitors will keep having their ID cards checked, along with possibly random vehicle searches.
Around the country the baseline level went from A to B but most military installations, including the Pentagon, were already at a higher level of protection than A.
They has also been tightened security in the Muslim community around Detroit because of messages and claims from ISIS that they have 70 terrorists in the U.S. ready to attack targets in more than a dozen states including Michigan.
Shite leaders in the U.S. have been told to have extra security on hand.
