LANSING, MI (WHTC) – State police say that over 500 drunken drivers were arrested in 26 participating counties, including Allegan, Eaton, Kalamazoo, Calhoun, Ingham, Ottawa and Van Buren, in the 22-day Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement campaign. The March 17 to April 7 effort, which spanned St. Patrick’s Day, Spring Break and the NCAA Final Four, led to a total of around 17 hundred citations for suspended licenses, driving uninsured and drug-related offenses. Federal funds paid for extra patrols of state troopers, county deputies and local officers.
