CHARLESTON TOWNSHIP (WKZO) — The US. Geological Service says there were no aftershocks following Saturday’s Tremor in the township, but there have been other incidents.
Augusta Police Chief Jeff Heppler says the earthquake is suspected in a couple of gas leaks in the area, one at the Target Distribution Center and another in Cooper Township that may have destroyed a barn.
MDOT has sent out inspectors to take a look at area overpasses and bridges follow Saturday’s minor earthquake south of Galesburg.
Heppler says he has worked a lot of disasters but this was his first earthquake.
