TEXAS TOWNSHIP (WKZO) — Attention sewer customers in Southwest Portage, they are asking that you stop flushing for now.
The City of Portage Utility Contractor is working on a 20-inch main that has sprung a leak at the 12th St. lift station and they are asking customers who are serviced by that facility to avoid flushing or anything that is going to send a lot of water down into the sewer line.
Washing clothes, running dishwashers, showers; put them off for a day if you can.
That includes homes west of U.S. 131, south of 12th St. Elementary and Texas Township residents who are on the municipal sanitary sewer system.
Work began over the weekend, and hope to wrap it up later today.
