PORTAGE (WKZO) — Portage Public Safety is calling a fire in the 2,000 block of Lakeview a $100-thousand dollar loss.
The blaze started when no one was home to report it and the fire may have burned for a while before it was reported.
The first crews on the scene around 10 a.m. found fire and smoke coming from the home on the shore of West Lake.
It took them about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause. There were no injuries.
