LANSING (WKZO)– The Latest Epic MRA poll shows that the state’s road funding question could be defeated by better than two to one when it goes to voters on tuesday. 61% plan to vote no and only 28% are ready to vote yes.
Governor snyder was in Kalamazoo Friday to speak at at Southwest Michigan First’s 2015 Populus Conference.
He told WKZO this week that he isn’t letting the polls showing 2 to 1 opposition to the road plan stop him. He is always relentlessly positive.
That’s not the only item on the ballot Tuesday. Kalamazoo school districts county wide are seeking millage to fund special education programs, to replace money they used to get from Lansing.
Supt. Michael Rice says while the money would be targeted for kids with disabilities and learning issues, it would help all children because they would no longer be taking that money out of the general fund.
He says if the Proposition 1 loses, and they lose funding from that, it will be bad.
If the Special Ed. millage also fails it will be worse.
If the legislature then decides to tap the school aid fund to pave roads, it will be worst of all.
