LANSING, MI (WHTC) – On the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Crime Victim’s Rights Act in Michigan, the Crime Victim Foundation Awareness and Recognition Program holds a special program at the state Capitol Rotunda in Lansing this evening. State Senator Tonya Schuitmaker, the Lawton Republican whose district includes Allegan County, is the keynote speaker.
The legislation, which has served as a model for the rest of the nation, was authored by the late state lawmaker from the Lakeshore, Bill Van Regenmorter (R-Hudsonville).
